"La Noche de LUZIA en Suecia" - 13 Diciembre (v.s) 24 Diciembre

El Calendario Gregoriano es un calendario originario de Europa actualmente utilizado de manera oficial en casi todo el mundo. Es denominado así por ser su promotor el papa Gregorio XIII. Vino a sustituir en al AÑO 1582 al Calendario Juliano, utilizado desde que Julio César lo instaurase en el AÑO 46 a. C.

Al jueves “juliano” 4 de octubre de 1582

le sucedió el viernes “gregoriano” 15 de octubre de 1582.

ONCE días “desaparecieron”

debido a que ya se habían contado de más en el calendario “juliano”.

Fue aceptado de inmediato por España, Portugal, Italia, y Polonia.

Hasta más de 200 años después, es decir,

hasta el AÑO 1753 no es aceptado en Suecia.

En la Antigua Historia Escandinava, la noche de LUZIA

era conocida por ser la NOCHE más larga del año (= SOLsticio de Invierno).

Fecha que fue cambiada al 24 de DICIEMBRE

cuando el Calendario Gregoriano entró en vigor en el año 1582 (d.C).

La canción tradicional religiosa de “LuciaSnatt” describe cómo

“ELLA venció a la oscuridad para encontrar la LUZ”.

Es fácil de comprender que durante los oscuros y largos inviernos en los países escandinavos, la idea de que las tinieblas sean “vencidas” por la LUZ y la promesa de volver a ver el SOL ha sido bien recibido por los escandinav@s durante cientos de años. Las celebraciones y procesiones en el Día de San Lucía son iluminadas por las luces de cientos de VELAS.

Un TRIUNFO = el de la LUZ sobre la oscuridad,

que es el origen de tantas y tantas tradiciones y fiestas populares alrededor del mundo. *
